Participating in the formal presentation were the Rev. Frederick Brown Harris, Freedoms Foundation trustee. Freedom Foundation cited Senator Jackson for "outstanding achievement in bringing about a better understanding of the American Way of Life in 1969." About 75 invited guests and awardees attended the formal ceremony held in the Reception Room VFW Building in Washington D.C. The United States Capitol Historical Society sponsored the program in cooperation with Freedoms Foundation. |
