| Caption | On the northwest corner of Meeker and Kennebec; the house was still standing in 1985. John's son-in-law Marcus Nelsen lived here until his death. From White River Journal: February 23, 1901: '...John Nelson of Pialchie is contemplating the erection of a fine residence in Kent.' June 8, 1901: '...John Nelson...negotiating for the Merrifield property on Meeker Ave.' June 15, 1901: 'John Nelson has begun ground for his new residence.' November 9, 1901: 'John had "opening" of his new home last Saturday evening when The Band was present and played a number of selections. Refreshments were served and all passed a pleasant evening.' |
