Thelma Saito became the new queen.
The Kent Lettuce Festival was held from 1934-1937. It was conceived to showcase Kent, the 'Lettuce Capital of the Northwest.' It attracted large crowds and featured parades, music, dancing, fireworks, a baseball game, etc., all of which was presided over by the Lettuce Queen and her court.
