| Caption | Auburn hosts and two visiting Tokyo educators pose behind and on the rear platform of a Northern Pacific observation car. Included in the photograph are: Auburn Mayor J.W. McKee (far left), Harry K. Fukuhara (top, 2nd from right), Kinu Fukuhara (front, 2nd from right) and members of the Ota, Kano, Kaneshige, Yamada, Okada, Itaya, Mino, Natori, Yasumura and Saiki families. In January, 1931, the Auburn Chamber of Commerce and the Auburn Japanese Association were joint hosts to two visiting Tokyo teachers, who were on a Goodwill tour by train to various cities on the west coast sponsored by the O.S.K. steamship line. |
