CaptionEast Columbia City from about 39th and Brandon. Rainier Avenue and the tracks of the Seattle & Rainier Beach Railway run diagonally southeast across the center of the image. At the extreme left the small white building is probably Hepler's Grocery. In the center are the buildings of Dudley and Sons, building contractor and fuel dealer. The street immediately to the left of Dudley and Sons is Dawson Street. At the right are parts of a street which later became 42nd Avenue.
