CaptionFire Station #28 was located on Orcas Street, a half block east of Rainier Avenue in Hillman City. When this station was built, teams of horses pulled the fire wagons and firemen had a brass pole to slide down from their living quarters. The new station was built on Rainier Avenue a few blocks south and was put into service in September of 1955. The old building shown here was probably torn down the following year.
