| Caption | The Rainier District Powwow was first held in 1937 and continued through 1990. It attracted thousands of people to Seward Park for races, beauty contests, and games. Queen Cara Okoren and her court, princesses Grace Boscolo and Gail Lincicome are riding in the District parade in an antique car owned and operated by Newell Davis of the Cosmopolitan Travel Service. His wife Adele is the passenger. They were both very active in community projects and helped make the Powwow the huge sucess it was for 53 years. |
