TitleAzzola Tavern interior showing Lino Azzola behind the bar, Renton, 1937
PhotographerUnknown
Date1937
NotesHandwritten on verso: Mr. Lino Azzola working behind the Azzola Tavern bar. He opened the bar around 1937. He had many Long Acres race track customers. The bar saw many servicemen during the war years. Dad claimed the most difficult part of his job was a 'drunk.' In those years having a 'bar' in the family was not conducive to popularity in school. Bar first opened on 1st Ave. then moved to Main St.

Signs inside tavern in image include: Old Gold.
Coca Cola.
Beer & Wine Not Sold To Minors.
Union Bar.
A Gallant Leader, Franklin D. Roosevelt.
Rainier.
7up, for the Stomach's Sake.

Renton Historical Society has a 35 mm negative of the original print on file.
