CaptionA helper locomotive is taken off the train at Cedar Falls. Locomotive #8509 was a class L-2 2-8-2 locomotive built by American Locomotive Company (ALCO). Locomotive #9519 was a class N1 compound Mallet built in 1910 by American Locomotive Company (ALCO). This photograph was taken on the Milwaukee Road prior to electrification.
