NotesNotes filed with image: The William A. Burtenshaw Family, ca. 1890. The Burtenshaws were among the first pioneers in the Maple Valley area. They arrived here in 1885. Mr. Burtenshaw was the original surveyor of the Hobart Highline Cemetery. He also served as road supervisor and justice of the peace.
The three children were born in Oregon. 1 Nancy (illegible) Burtenshaw Sandahl; 2 Hannah Melissa Lindley Burtenshaw (Mrs. William), born in Oregon; 3 E. Stella Burtenshaw; 4 William Alfred Burtenshaw, born in Kentucky; 5 Oscar, William's son. William and Hannah had three more children born in Maple Valley, Washington.
