| Caption | By 1905, Seattle businessmen had built many large buildings in the downtown area. Larger commercial buildings were being built in outlying neighborhoods too. This photo shows the Broadway Building, at the corner of Broadway and Madison Street. It had a drugstore and a grocery store on the ground floor and a dancing school upstairs. A horsedrawn grocery cart waits by the curb. |
