| Title | Coliseum Theatre, November 3, 1934 |
| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1934 |
| Caption | The Coliseum Theatre, at the northeast corner of Fifth Avenue and Pike Street, was the world's first theater designed just for the movies. Unlike other theaters of its time, it had no stage for live acts. It did, however, have a nursery for children, and an organ and orchestra to play with silent movies. This elegant building is now occupied by a retail clothing store. This photo shows the Coliseum Theatre in 1934 when its large domed entry canopy was still standing. |
