| Caption | In this photograph, a man holds a boy who is looking through a telescope high above Seattle on the Space Needle observation deck. The view to the northeast shows Lake Union on a sunny day. The Space Needle is easily the most recognizable structure built for the 1962 Seattle World's Fair, with the top of the Needle measuring 605 feet high and the main observation deck at 520 feet. The Space Needle hosted 2.3 million visitors during the Fair and continues to be one of Seattle's top tourist attractions. |
