| Title | Couple and car in the snow at Snoqualmie Pass, ca. 1920s |
| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | ca. 1920s |
| Caption | Until 1931, the highway department closed the Sunset Highway through Snoqualmie Pass each winter. Work crews usually opened the road in late May, sometimes blasting through remaining drifts with dynamite. This photographic postcard, probably made on a spring day in the 1920s, shows a couple and their car surrounded by deeply packed snow at the summit of Snoqualmie Pass. |
