| Title | Delivery trucks at the Imperial Laundry, 1941 |
| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1941 |
| Caption | Before it was common to have washing machines and dryers in homes and apartments, many Seattle residents sent their home laundry to commercial laundry companies. A delivery truck picked up the dirty laundry and took it to be washed, ironed, and folded. The truck then returned the clean laundry to the owner. In this 1941 photo, a fleet of delivery trucks and their drivers line up outside the Imperial Laundry Company on East Columbia Street in Seattle. Webster & Stevens took the photo for the International Harvester Company, which built the trucks. |
