| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | 1940 |
| Caption | Many people keep important papers, fine jewelry, and other precious items in safe deposit boxes at a bank. They want to be sure that these things are in a very secure place. In 1940, the president of the University National Bank had Webster & Stevens take a photograph of the bank's vault to impress potential customers with how safe it was. This photo shows the vault in the University National Bank, at University Way and Northeast 45th Street. A woman is standing inside the vault at the safe deposit boxes. The heavy vault door is locked when the bank is closed. |
