| Title | Alaska bald eagle, ca. 1907 |
| Photographer | Webster & Stevens |
| Date | ca. 1907 |
| Caption | A number of photographers followed the miners to Alaska during the late 1890s and early 1900s. Some tried mining. Others set up businesses, photographing wildlife, scenery, people, and whatever else they saw around them. They made a living selling the photos to miners, tourists, and anyone else who would buy them. This photo, taken around 1907, shows a bald eagle perched on a stump near an unidentified Alaskan shore. Snow-covered mountains rise in the background. |
