CaptionAfter the Snoqualmie Pass road was built through the Cascade Mountains, a second trans-mountain road was built at Stevens Pass. Some 1, 200 people in 283 cars drove up to Stevens Pass for the official dedication on July 11, 1925. Photographers from the Webster & Stevens firm, in the official Seattle Times press car, took photos the following day.
This photo shows sightseers driving on the rugged Stevens Pass road the day after its dedication in 1925.
