| Photographer | Fairbanks, Lulu (?) |
| Date | 1914 |
| Caption | Lulu Fairbanks was an active member of the Mountaineers and kept a scrapbook of their activities. This photo is part of her chapter on the dedication of the lodge near Rockdale in the Snoqualmie Pass region. On June 21, 1914, a group of Mountaineers took the train from Seattle and climbed up to their new lodge, which was still under construction. Each member of the party carried a board or a brick up the steep hillside. They held a dedication, Professor Meany reading a poem he wrote for the occasion. This photo shows the rear of the lodge with its framework of logs and stone chimney. |
| Notes | Scrapbook also contains newspaper clipping, "Lodge Dedicated by Mountaineers, " June 22, 1914. |
