PhotographerFairbanks, Lulu (?)
Date1914
CaptionLulu Fairbanks was an active member of the Mountaineers and kept a scrapbook of their activities. This photo is part of her chapter on the dedication of the lodge near Rockdale in the Snoqualmie Pass region. On June 21, 1914, a group of Mountaineers took the train from Seattle and climbed up to their new lodge, which was still under construction. Each member of the party carried a board or a brick up the steep hillside. They held a dedication, Professor Meany reading a poem he wrote for the occasion. This photo shows the rear of the lodge with its framework of logs and stone chimney.
