| Title | Colman family bungalow, Seattle, ca. 1912 |
| Photographer | Unknown |
| Date | ca. 1912 |
| Caption | The Colman family was among the first residents of the Fauntleroy neighborhood in West Seattle. In 1906 James Colman and his son Laurence bought 17 acres of land there for a summer home. James died later that year, and Laurence then built a home on the property and moved there with his wife, Ida, and their four children Agnes, Kenneth, Katharine, and Isabel. The two children in the image are most likely Katharine and Isabel Colman. This home is an excellent example of bungalow style architecture as was featured in the April 1914 issue of Bungalow Magazine. The home was designed by architect Daniel R. Huntington. |
