CaptionEmil G. Sick, owner of the Rainier Brewery, bought the Seattle Indians late in 1937 and renamed them the Rainiers. The team won three straight pennants in the Pacific Coast League in 1939, 1940, and 1941, and two more in the 1950s. The Rainiers were very popular with their loyal Seattle fans.
