CaptionBorn in Pennsylvania, Methodist minister Daniel Bagley lived in Illinois before traveling west to Seattle by covered wagon in 1860. He founded the Brown Church on Second and Madison downtown and served as president of the new Territorial University's Board of Commissioners. He was also involved in running the Lake Washington Coal Company. Bagley died in 1905.
