| Photographer | Rote, Clarence J. Seattle Post-Intelligencer |
| Date | 1945 |
| Caption | Young patrons enjoy browsing the collections of the new Beacon Hill Branch library at 2708 Beacon Avenue S. The branch opened in 1945 and operated on a two-year trial basis with Seattle Public Library contributing books and staff and the community paying rent and providing building maintenance. High use levels proved the trial successful and the Seattle Public Library assumed full responsibility for the branch. In 1962 the Beacon Hill Branch moved to 2519 15th Avenue S. |
