| Photographer | Staff Photographer Seattle Post-Intelligencer |
| Date | 1941 |
| Caption | When the Lake Washington Ship Canal was completed in 1917, the lake level dropped by nine feet and exposed stretches of new shoreline. Fortunately, Seattle set aside public beaches such as Madison Park. The bath house was built in 1919 and shortly afterwards the beach became part of the Seattle parks system. |
