CaptionThis artist's rendering shows the original design of the Museum of History and Industry that opened on February 15, 1952, the first structure built to house the collections of the Seattle-King County Historical Society. Formed as the Seattle Historical Society in 1911, on the 60th anniversary of the Alki Landing of the Denny Party, the museum is the largest private heritage organization in the state of Washington.
