This is the third part, published separately of a larger three-part work Doctrinale antiquitatum fidei eccleaisae catholicae by the 15th century English Carmelite scholar, Thomas Netter, who was called Walden after the section of Essex in which he was born. Netter's book is a polemic against heresies dealing with the Sacraments, and is directed against the followers of John Wycliffe, and of Jan Hus.
The printers extend the title to include Lutherans, and state explicitly in the dedication they see the work as applying to Martin Luther, and the Lutherans, as well. Source is Eureka Union Catalog record GAETO42352901-B. |
