ContentThe ninth German Bible, the only one issued in that language by Antonio Koberger (or Koburger), the most prolific of the great fifteenth century printers. He produced no less than fifteen editions of the Bible in Latin. The text is apparently based on the Cologne Low German Bible. Luther, in referring to this edition of Koberger's, declared that "no one could speak German of this outlandish kind."
