TitlePreparing a house for burning in Marcus, Washington, 1941
PhotographerUnknown
Date1941
NotesCaption on image: WPA Preparing Marcus house for burning. While a WPA clearing crew in the background works about a house in too poor condition for moving or salvage which was purchased by the Bureau of Reclamation and later turned over to the WPA for demolition, U.S. Custom men under M.R. Rodgers salvage lumber from a bran (sic) in the foreground with which to construct a boathouse in Northport. The Custom Service will have an international border patrol boat stationed at Northport by early summer on the lake now rapidly forming as the Columbia river rises behind Grand Coulee dam.
