CASHNER RITES ARE TOMORROW

John Cashner, pioneer plainsman, buffalo hunter and Civil War veteran, will be buried tomorrow following funeral services at the Green Lake Methodist Church at 2 p.m. He died Sunday at his home, 2110 North Seventy-seventh Street, ending a residence in Seattle of twenty-one years.
Back in the 70s Cashner hunted buffalo with the famous Buffalo Bill. In 1875 he moved to Spearfish, in the South Dakota Black Hills, and was appointed the first postmaster of the village. He was a personal friend of Theodore Roosevelt in the frontier days.
He was a member of Stevens Post, G. A. R. and a Mason. He was eighty-six. The funeral will be under the direction of the Georgetown Undertaking Company.

CASHNER - At the residence, 2110 North 77th, May 5, 1928, JOHN CASHNER, aged 86 years, beloved brother of James W. Cashner, Kansas City, Kan., and David Cashner, Dayton, O.; uncle of Mrs. Geo. Bromley, Seattle. Deceased was a member of Stevens Post No. 1, G. A. R., and F. and A. M. lodge.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Green Lake Methodist Church, No. 65th and 1st N.E. Interment Evergreen Park. Georgetown Undertaking Co., funeral directors. |
