WAR VETERAN DEAD [photo] PIONEER HOTEL MAN DIES HERE
John G. Nolop, eighty-three, Seattle pioneer and resident of Seattle since 1873, died at his home, 5300 Kenyon Place, at 5 o'clock last night.
Mr. Nolop was a Civil War veteran. He was a member of Stevens Post No. 1, G. A. R., and was at one time interested in the Diller and the old Brunswick Hotels. Funeral services will be held at his residence Saturday at 2 o'clock. Members of Stevens Post and Stevens Relief Corps will take part in the services.
Mr. Nolop was born in Paris, Canada, December 7, 1838, and came to the United States in 1860, in time to enlist with the Union army. He established his first residence in Wisconsin and later moved to Washington. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Jack St. Marie, and a son, Charles G. Nolop of Seattle. The body will be cremated at the Bonney-Watson Company undertaking establishment immediately following the services. |
