Scrolling title: During the four months of its active life the Tacoma Narrows Bridge developed types of motion unprecedented in suspension bridge experience. A vertical undulating motion of aerodynamic origin was observed whenever the wind struck the bridge at small angles with the horizontal, as many as nine separate modes of motion being noted. Double amplitudes as great as fifty inches were not uncommon. The following scenes represent a few characteristic motions. Cars drive across the undulating Tacoma Narrows Bridge.
