Caption on image: Fig. 7 Photograph of Model of Tacoma Narrows bridge in wind tunnel at University of Washington Structural Research Laboratory. At the right can be seen the screen through which the air stream passes and the curved portion of the tunnel which effects the 4-1 reduction in cross-section of the stream. The man nearest to the model, with his hand on the supporting beam, is Professor Farquharson.
