Alatskivi Manor
Alatskivi Manor
TitleAlatskivi Manor
NotesThe town of Alatskivi and its surroundings have been inhabited since ancient times. The manor was established in the middle of the 16th century. In 1856 the manor was acquired by Arved von Nolcken, who designed and supervised the construction of the present manor house in 1880-1885. The manor house is considered to be one of the most beautiful examples of Gothic revival architecture in Estonia. The main building of the manor partly copies Balmoral, Queen Victoria's residence in Scotland which was completed in about 1855.
