NotesIslam Khoja was a vizier of Khan Isfandiiar and an enlightened man who, in addition to commissioning the Islam-Khoja minaret and mosque, also founded a hospital and a school for local children, and built bridges and roads. At 44.5 meters, the Islam-Khodzha minaret is the highest minaret in Khiwa. The ensemble was completed in 1910.
