View of the Great Cascade Fountains and the Great Palace in Peterhof
TitleView of the Great Cascade Fountains and the Great Palace in Peterhof
NotesThe Great Palace functions as the structural center of the complex, between the Upper Gardens and the Lower Park. The palace stands at the edge of a sixteen-meter high terrace, and is decorated with gilt statues, and the crystalline jets of the Great Cascade and terrace fountains. Renowned international architects such as Jonathan Braunstein, Jean-Baptiste Le Blond, Niccolo Michetti and Bartolomeo Rastrelli took part in its construction.
