Reformation Church in the old city of Riga
Reformation Church in the old city of Riga
TitleReformation Church in the old city of Riga
NotesThe Reformation Church was built in 1727-1733 by master-stonemason K.Meiner. It is the only baroque-style church building in old Riga. The building burned down and was reconstructed in 1805. The church has a conspicuous feature--a morning star on the spire. It is one of a few Calvinist churches in Latvia. It was turned into a warehouse and a recording studio by the Soviets after 1945. It now serves as a restaurant and is used for some concerts.
