DescriptionA long-necked lute with a round-shaped body; this instrument has 8 steel playing strings arranged in 4 courses. Its 8 T-shaped tuning pegs are arranged with 4 on the front of the head stock and 4 on the left side. A groove runs the length of the left side of the neck. There are 52 moveable nylon frets. The stringholder and nut are made of bone. The bridge and the frog are made of wood. The bridge is not fixed to the soundboard and is currently stored lying flat on its side beneath the strings. Pencil marks on the face of the soundboard show the proper location for the bridge. The body of the instrument is bowl-shaped with a round-shaped face that is slightly recessed. The body is made of a dark wood with a lighter wood comprising the longitudinal ribs. This instrument is stored in a black fabric draw-string bag. This instrument is in good condition.
