| Title | Vintage 19th c. marbled paper, Dahlia pattern |
| Artist | Unknown |
| Date | 19th century |
| Descriptive Notes | Wolfe: Not listed Miura: Dahlia
The pattern was created during the end of the 19th century.
The pattern is created by starting with a Zebra base. Next according to Miura, another color mixed with ox gall is thrown onto the bath. Then a second color is then 'swirled' through a sieve onto the bath. As a final step, a third color is then lightly sprinkled onto top, creating flower-like patterns to occur which are reminiscent of the Dahlia.
The primary colors for this example are blue (dark, medium and light), red and yellow.
