This pattern is created by starting with a Nonpareil base whose last pass was vertical in the bath, lengthwise. Next a comb with one set of teeth would be pulled once across the bath horizontally a single time. Finally another comb with one set of set in wider intervals than the previous comb would be drawn a single time vertically through the bath from the top down, towards you.

The sample is a second.

The primary colors for this example are pink, black, yellow and white.

Collection NotesThis sample is a flat sample from amongst a box of samples Guyot would have used to monitor his inventory and pattern types for his company, Colophon.
