| Scrapbook Notes | It had been a frustrating day. Departure from Eniwetok had been delayed an hour because of a scheduled missile shot. The shot was finally canceled and the M-boat set out over a choppy lagoon. But one engine was losing power and the trip was slowed even more. Midway across the lagoon, someone discovered the skiff had broken loose from its tow rope. It was almost as hopeless as looking for a needle in a haystack, but the M-boat turned back to search for the skiff. Luckily, it hadn't drifted far and was found tossing on the stormy lagoon. |
