| Title | Frank Lowman shoveling sand away from a vehicle mired on Enjebi Island's beach, summer 1964 |
| Photographer | Sneddon, James O. |
| Date | 1964 |
| Notes | Images documenting the Radiological Survey of Eniwetok, Bikini and Rongelap Atolls between July and September 1964.
Caption with image: The six-passenger pickup wasn't as lucky as the jeep. It mired down in the deep sand, despite the combined push of half a dozen expedition members. More power only dug the wheels in deeper. Finally, the M-boat crew fastened a heavy rope to the truck and pulled it back aboard. It never did get up onto the island itself. Lowman was on the business end of the shovel and Bonham was at the wheel. 9266-11.
