Caption with image: Ralph Palumbo is shown standing beside a Guettarda tree on Bogombogo Island. The tree was about 12 feet high and was on an island that had been completely barren at the end of the testing program. It was on this island that Palumbo was unable to find marking stakes by which he had kept a tab on specific plants in past years. The vegetation simply was too dense to find the stakes. 9245-35.
