Members of the expedition were Lauren R. Donaldson, laboratory director; Ralph F. Palumbo, Arthur D. Welander, Kelshaw Bonham, Gary Lewis, Stanley P. Gessel, Richard Billings, Raul McClin, James O. Sneddon and Hill Williams, all of the University of Washington; Arnold Joseph, of the U.S. Atomic Energy Commission; John Koranda, of Lawrence Radiation Laboratory; Frank Lowman, of the Puerto Rico Nuclear Center; William Jackson, of Bowling Green State University, and Keith Allsup, of Holmes & Narver.

The party included specialists in all pertinent facets of atoll life--fish, land and water plants, invertebrates, marine biology, soils, marine radioecology and radiation detection. In addition, the expedition included a photographer and historian. Among the photographer's many duties was recording the expedition for a documentary film to be sponsored by the Atomic Energy Commission.
