Caption in scrapbook: After Sunday dinner
At the conclusion of Father Feeney's Sunday dinner, members of the party adjourned to the upper verandah of the mission for this photograph. The girls in front, most of them linked to the DeBrum of Cappelle families, are those who had helped serve the meal or provide music as the banquet proceeded. They were the girls who had played and sung such songs as:
Belok katin ne am, Jobelbel ion meja... Meja, Meja e aikuj in lo uik...
That curtain of yours is open, It is waving in my eyes... My eyes, my eyes wish to look upon you.
