NotesImages documenting the 1949 Bikini-Eniwetok Resurvey Project.

Name changes: Eniwetok is now known as Enewetak
Caption in scrapbook: It was a memorable feast
On Sunday, August 21, members of the survey party were the guests of Father Francis J. Feeney at a dinner served on the upper floor of his new Catholic Mission near the center of Likiep Village. The Marshallese had killed a turtle in honor of the occasion, but the dinner seemed a composite of all the delicacies that native skill and resources could provide. If the members of the party seem a little sombre, it is only because there were too stuffed to smile. They include (from the left) Freddie Cappelle, Cappelle DeBrum, Bonham, Biddulph, Welander, Lowman, Scudder, Seymour, Donaldson, Father Feeney, Anton DeBrum, Greer, Wilroy, Hines, Palumbo, Kellogg, St. John and Tinker.
