Caption in scrapbook: The relics of crossroads
Between the Bikini Officer's Club and the beach was a recreation area, paved in 1946 and equipped for basketball, volleyball and tennis. This photograph shows the area in 1949 before it was used by the Resurvey group for Sunday evening recreation parties. Vines had climbed posts and fencing and grass and weeds flourished in the spreading cracks in the concrete.
