Text: Round dress of black velvet, flounced with gauze; the flounces headed and bound with black satin. White satin hat fastened up on the left side with three loops, surmounted by a full plume of white curled feathers. A cornette of fine tulle is worn underneath the hat. Shoes of lemon-coloured satin. A white Cashemire shawl, with a rich variegated border; and when this dress is worn at the theatre, as it is sometimes, a carved ivory fan, beautifully painted, is added. |
