Contextual NotesMcCaughey Mill Company appears to have been in business ca. 1910 to ca. 1930.

Fortson is slightly more than twenty miles east of Arlington, in north central Snohomish County. Established in 1896, it was named for Capt. George H. Fortson three years later. On March 26, 1899, he was killed at Passig Bridge in the Philippines during the Spanish American War.
