The Flora Logging Company was incorporated in 1922 by J.C. Flora of Portland and E.S. Grammer of Seattle. The company began operations in 1923 when they bought the properties of the Carlton Consolidated Lumber Company in Yamhill County. The Carlton Consolidated sawmill had burned down in 1914 and was rebuilt by the Flora Logging Company.
